How I Help

Healthcare can be overwhelming and confusing - especially if you're doing it alone.  As a Registered Nurse with 20+ years of experience, I provide clear, compassionate support so you feel more confident moving forward.

Below are some of the most common questions people ask - and how my services fit into your care.

What exactly do you do?

I help people and families feel clearer and more organized when dealing with their healthcare.  This may include:

  • preparing for medical appointments

  • clarifying care plans and next steps

  • helping you understand test results or recommendations

  • supporting people or loved ones who feel overwhelmed

  • providing guidance, education, and emotional support

My goal is simple:  to help you feel confident, informed, and supported - not lost or alone.

How is this different from home health or the nurses in my doctor's office?

Home health nurses focus on clinical tasks like wound care, injections, or medication administration.  Primary care or specialist office nurses support the provider's work and triage urgent needs.

My role is completely different.  I don't replace your medical team - I help you navigate everything around your medical care:

  • what to prioritize

  • what questions to ask

  • what your provider actually meant

  • how to make decisions without feeling overwhelmed

  • what's realistic

  • what actually matters

  • who should be involved

Think of me as your healthcare guide and partner, not a task-based nurse.

Who is a good fit for your services?

Most people who reach out to me feel:

  • overwhelmed or confused

  • unsure how about how to move forward

  • responsible for a loved one's care

  • frustrated by complex care plans

  • worried they're "missing something important"

  • tired of a broken system

  • emotionally drained from navigating it all alone

If you've ever said, "I just wish someone could help me make sense of this," you're a great fit.

If your situation feels complex or you're managing ongoing medical needs, I also offer ongoing support for clients who want steadier guidance, regular check-ins, and someone to help keep everything straight.

Do you work with people who live out of state?

Absolutely.  I support clients from all over.  Although I'm based in Northern Virginia and often work with families in the DMV region, many of the people I help live in different states.

Because my work is virtual and consultative, I can help you feel clear, supported, and confident regardless of your location.

Do you replace my doctor or nurse practitioner?

No.  Your providers remain responsible for your diagnosis and treatment.

I support you by making sure:

  • you understand what they said

  • you feel prepared

  • you know what happens next

  • nothing important slips through the cracks

I complement your medical team - I don't replace them.

Do you  help with medical emergencies?

No.  I do not provide on-call or emergency services.  If  you have urgent concerns, you should contact your provider or call 911.

How much does it cost?

A one-hour consultation is $125.

This includes:

  • review of your concerns and priorities

  • your next steps

  • appointment prep or debrief

  • a clear, written summary

  • access to additional resources

  • support for loved ones involved in the plan

Sometimes we only need one session.  Sometimes people choose ongoing support.  You're never locked into anything.

If your situation is more complex or ongoing, we can talk about whether continued support might be helpful during your consultation.

If finances are a barrier, I also reserve a small number of sliding-scale spots.  Just let me know during your consultation.

Do you accept insurance?

Because my role is consultative and supportive - not medical treatment - services are typically not covered by insurance plans.  As a result, my services are private-pay and I do not bill insurance.

What can I expect after a session?

You'll walk away with:

  • peace of mind

  • the top priorities to focus on

  • the sense that you're no longer doing this alone

  • a clear, understandable plan

  • next steps you can actually follow through on

Most people say they feel calmer, clearer, and more in control - even after the first session.
